Reacting to Britain’s BEST books

As a Canadian living in the UK, I’ve read loads of British books this year and I need to talk about them!! From Richard Osman, to Jane Austen and HG Wells! We even have Mick Heron, Agatha Christie and more! Do British people make the best authors? Let’s find out!

Some books that I would recommend:
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch
The Portable Door by Tom Holt
The Complete Yes Minister: The Diaries of a Cabinet Minister by Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay
One-Hit Wonder by Lisa Jewel
Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C Clarke
The Women in Black by Susan Hill
I’m sure lots of people will recommend Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels. The key thing to remember is that there are several different series with different styles and it is common to like some series more than others:

If you like spy novels then I recommend John le Carré and Arthur Conan Doyle is good for his Sherlock Holmes’s novels.

Ps.
I would also recommend Frederick Forsyth for spy novels.
