[VIDEO] 5 Mistakes I Made When Moving To England

I love being an expat living in England, but that doesn’t mean I don’t also have mistakes I made when moving to England. Here are some things I wish I had done differently – If you move to England, maybe you can avoid them!
Of course looking back, it’s much easier to see the mistakes I made rather than when I was in the moment. Such is life! I love England and living in England, but there’s always going to be things I wish I did differently.

Alanna, we brits love your honesty and now you are an adopted brit, we are all human and its in our nature to make mistakes and learn from them.

Thanks for another great video Alanna. I completely get targeting a job first – rental/mortgage costs in the UK are insane due to the long running housing shortage, so that’s an immediate source of anxiety. And work is what everyone does – the norm – it provides more than just financial security. Tho perhaps your boyfriend could have supported you for a bit ? What I’ve done is take time off between permanent jobs. Contracting would be another way of doing it – work for a set period then organise time traveling. Ever thought of changing your job ? Medway is on the up by the sound of it. Have a look at Dovetail Games in the Dockyard – perhaps enter in an admin role to make it easy and get the feel of the place, then change internally to something more suiting your talents?
